Hii All,

today i help my friend for configuration with software "Firmware selection 1.2" with Speccy 128k.

Well i insert the CF card, and i see many problem for start DivIde, after two reset i enter into selection menu for firmware, select Fatware, and che DivIde blocked, reset, nothing, every times to connect the DivIde appears the image "Firmware selector 1.2, select: FatWare, press 1 for continue" but evey key not function and the DivIde is blocked.

When i leave the first jumper (near IDE), the screen is blocked, then i leave the jumper near MNI i see the classic Speccy 128K menu and i work normaly.

i format the CF card (fat), and insert boot.ini and fatware and i hope to load firmware, nothing.

Can i help my and my friends for unblocked this DivIde?

Hmm- that is an old version of the Firmware Selector.

There is no need to change any of the jumpers when installing the firmware - the only jumper which you need to think about is the +3 jumper near the expansion connector - this has to be removed for a Rubber Key ZX Spectrum, a ZX Spectrum+48, a ZX Spectrum +128 and a ZX Spectrum +2 (Grey model).

Ensure the jumper is in place for use with a black ZX Spectrum +2A, +2B or +3.

The other thing to check is the battery in the DivIDE Plus, as the firmware selector (and residos) needs to use the battery backed RAM on the DivIDE Plus - does the battery need replacing? The fact that the firmware selector does not seem to be remembering its settings (hence why you keep seeing the start up screen) suggests the battery needs replacement.

It is not clear from your post what exactly you have done - did you just run the firmware selector install program from the compact flash card ? Or something else?
Are you saying that you have tried to re-install the original firmware from compact flash card? You CANNOT do this - there is a deinstaller program included with the firmware selector which removes the firmware selector and installs FATware back into position 0.

If necessary, if the DivIDE Plus was purchased from us, we can supply a replacement flash EPROM to put the DivIDE Plus back to where it was. Do you know if it has the upgraded GAL set (or was it purchased from us after January 2013) ?
