Hi guys, yesterday I had a problem with my divide+, please someone can give me a hint ?

I was loading same programs using Residos 2.01 the compact flash has always been read perfectly (A-data 1GB) fat16 .
Then I have installed taskman.pkg and tapio.pkg , I’ve noticed that taskmanager was a little bit “lazy”, in other words the nmi button sometimes was not responding and sometimes the Zx freezed with the only choise to unplug the main power.

The tapeio.pkg was instead working marvellously and I was loading “tzxs” and “taps”, It seemed to me a paradise.

After few minutes the zx freesed again and from that moment, residos has never more recognized the compact flash, when I give tha command CAT it returns me “Invalid stream” and at the starting prompt boot on the Zx screen I’ve noticed that the CF is not recognized.

The divide plus is working well, because if I use it with divide dos, it loads and saves perfectly so it reade and writes the CF (I have used another CF of the same kind) , so I think that I have a problem with residos.
Please notice that the datas on the CF are still there (readed from a PC).

What can I do ?

Please help.

Thanks Fabio

This may be down to two problems:

1) Windows XP does not seem to correctly format all CF cards - they can be missing a boot sector, which can cause problems

2) You may have corrupted ResiDOS - it is stored on battery backed RAM - you can download it from http://www.worldofspectrum.org/residos/downloads.html however, you will need to convert the .tzx file to .tap - I have done this already and when I get chance, will upload it to my website.

I'm trying to reinstall Residos from tape but i'm having problems .
Do am I wronging strategy ?

from Residos my Speccy does not loads anything, even if I disable it with OUT 23,104, from fatware (OUT 23,0) the zx returns me an R Tape loading error and finally from divie + (out 23,4) it loads the program but gives me the error :"Invalid hook code".

What do I have to do for reinstalling it.

Thanks Fabio

You can download the .tap file from http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk/downloads/residos.tap

Copy this onto your compact flash card, then start up your Spectrum and DivIDE Plus in FATware mode - select ResiDOS using the NMI browser in FATware, then just enter LOAD ""

This should reinstall ResiDOS without problems.
