Formatting CF Cards
Posted: Sat Jan 12, 2008 5:19 pmSome people have noticed an issue with compact flash cards which are not being properly formatted under Windows XP, in that they do not have a master boot record (which is required by FATware).
This can be resolved using the LiveCD version of GParted to format the CF card.
GParted also has the added benefit of
- providing the facility to partition your CF card
- providing feedback on cylinders, heads and partition information
(Both not available via WinXP)
