Now that we supply brand new Competition Pro Joysticks with a standard Atari 9 pin DIN connector, we have been thinking about creating some standard joystick adaptors to enable other retro computers use these.

So far we perceive a need for:

Commodore Plus/4 adaptors (in stock)
Amstrad CPC Computers
BBC Model B Computers
Sinclair Standard Interface (ie. not Kempston, but ZX Interface 2 or Spectrum +2A, +2B and +3 models)

Is there enough interest in these to get them made?

It appears that the Amstrad CPC-464 computer sold in the UK and also the Schneider CPC computer (export model) both work with the original Atari joystick. It is therefore only the Scheider CPC computer made for the German market which needs an adaptor!!

We have found a supplier of adaptors to allow the Competition Pro Joysticks to work with the Commodore Plus/4 computer.

We are also investigating making SJS1 convertors (to allow the Competition Pro Joystick to work in a Sinclair joystick socket, such as provided on the ZX Spectrum +2). We have even got a sample adaptor to make it work with the BBC-Micro, which is currently awaiting testing.

What other computers do we need interfaces / adaptors for?

I'm a little bit confused with the options, but this is what I've been looking for:

-Adapter to allow use of original Sinclair Joysticks on PCs. The Atari people, for example, developed a USB to 2600 adapter to let Atari fans use their old joysticks on their favorite Windows emulator. I'm not sure what would be needed to use a real Sinclair joystick on Spectaculator, for example. Would a simple adapter connected to the standard joystick port suffice?
-Adapter to connect standard analog PC joysticks or controllers to Sinclair or Kempston ports. Maybe the pin configuration could be configurable, if desired? I've been thinking of buying something like this:

I'm not sure how joysticks work, but if it's the same principle we see in standard com/serial/db-9 cables, there should be a way to do just one adapter that serves more than one purpose. This would help keep costs low and allow people to experiment with more than one joystick and more than one system.
